Selank
-
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide that mimics the effects of the endogenous tetrapeptide tuftsin. It exerts its effects on the central nervous system by modulating neurotransmitter levels, particularly serotonin and dopamine. Selank also has anti-anxiety, neuroprotective, and cognitive-enhancing properties, likely due to its ability to enhance GABAergic activity and stabilize catecholamine levels. Furthermore, Selank is thought to reduce the breakdown of enkephalins (endogenous opioid peptides), which can contribute to its calming and mood-stabilizing effects. Selank has been shown to reduce anxiety, improve mood, enhance cognitive function, and boost memory retention.
